Forza Motorsport 4 Demo now available on Xbox Live

It’s the day many of us have been waiting for as we can all finally get our first taste of Forza Motorsport 4 with the demo now available for download via Xbox Live.

It’s a 1.27GB download, featuring the Bernese Alps course with five cars; the 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia, the 2012 BMW M5, the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator and the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque.

The demo supports official leaderboards for lap times and showcase the all-new Rivals Mode that will let players compete online against their friends in a variety of game types, whether they’re online or not, by challenging them for bragging rights and rewards. The Forza Motorsport 4 demo will feature three Rivals Mode events:

  • Round the Mountain – In this hot-lapping challenge, you’ll race your rival in one of the world’s ultimate road cars, the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, through the breathtaking vistas of the Brunnen Lauterbraunen ribbon

In less exciting news, a range of Forza Motorsport 4 avatar items are also now available, should you wish to display your support of the game online in the build-up to the October 14th release date in the UK. We’ll be back with our first impressions from the demo in a bit…

Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad announced for Xbox Live and Playstation Network

There isn’t much in the way of the detail yet, but apparently Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad will be released for Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network this summer, with what appears to be different publishers as D3Publisher are referenced for Xbox and Reverb Publishing for Playstation.

Either way, we know the game will feature legendary seven-time AMA Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath, who retired from full-time off-road motorcycle racing on the eve of the 2003 supercross season, but continues to compete in off-road trucks, occasionally stock cars, and sometimes back on two wheels.

He’ll be up against some tough competition. Following McGrath in legendary American off-road racers is Ricky Carmichael, and Ricky Carmichael’s Motocross Matchup is out now for iPhone, whilst current racer James ‘Bubba’ Stewart not only features in MX vs ATV Alive, but his private off-road track also plays a part.

So that’s three of the greatest off-road riders of the last 10-15 years, with one in a full console game, one in a downloadable console game, and one on your mobile phone. It’s a good time to be an MX or SX fan looking for some entertainment!

Simbin announces WTCC 2010 expansion for RACE 07

In just a couple of days, the WTCC 2010 expansion for Race 07 will be released by Swedish developers Simbin, adding five cars from the 2010 touring car series in 26 different race liveries, and 11 tracks including one which has never before appeared in an ‘authentic racing game’.

The expansion will be released on May 19, 2011, costing 9.99 Euro for the PC racing sim. Despite the year in the title, it apparently features cars and tracks used by the WTCC series over the past four years, including the likes of Macau, Marrakech, Brno and Brands Hatch. When combined with Race 07, you’ll end up with 16 car models in 10 different classes and a total of 20 circuits.

The game also features multiplayer racing against the AI or up to 25 players online, ghost racing against your best lap time, or the best online, and the real regulations from the WTCC to allow you to make the game as realistic as you like.

So if you’re a touring car fan, then this seems like a pretty good expansion pack – available on May 19th.

Race 07 GT Power Pack Expansion arrives today

The GT Power Pack arrivs today as an expansion for SimBin’s Race 07 PC game. It’s the third set of additional content for the game, and adds  GT sportscars and two new tracks.

The three new cars are the Pagani Zonda R, the BMW M3 GT2 and the Matech GT 1. If you’re not familiar with the final name,  Matech Concepts have been developing the modern Ford GT for racing since 2007. Having won the FIA GT3 European Team Championship in 2008, they created a GT1 prototype, and are concententrating on the GT championship.

And then there are the two new tracks, which are both real circuits, with the popular U.S. track Mid Ohion, and the Chayka circuit which is located near Kiev in Ukraine. Chayka previously appeared in SimBin’s ‘Volvo The Game’.

The GT Power Pack (And Race 07) are available to download via Steam or RaceRoom, and the GT Power Pack costs 4.99 EUR. And here are some nice screenshots, in case you haven’t been tempted enough already…

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit ‘Super Sport’ DLC Trailer

1 million Youtube views unlock NfS: Hot Pursuit cars

A new video recently uploaded to Youtube showcases three convertible cars which will be made available for free to anyone with the game.

So here’s the video showcasing the three cars, which are the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster , and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition:

And how do these cars become available? Here’s the highly unusual bit. The description supplied by the EA account to display with the video claims that the cars will be unlocked when a video announcing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is available reaches a million views on Youtube.

It’s a bit of a strange one, as it’s not completely unheard of for Youtube figures to be artificially boosted, but hey ho. To help reach the million views target by the deadline of December 12th, 2010, just watch the following video:

It’s currently at 575,586 views today, Wednesday December 8th, so it’ll need a bit of help to hit the million mark!

Oh, and if you haven’t bought Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, then:
