With the tyres still cooling on the the centrepiece of our last Simraceway video, we’ve returned to Kart Racing Pro for a modest karting companion piece.
Timed with style…
One of PiBoSo‘s intriguing simulation projects, this short video shows two mostly smooth laps at the Lonato circuit included in the KRP demo.
Driving with feeling…
Clearly comfortable with both two and four-wheeled simulation, though I can imagine true kart experts to readily lay some criticism down, PiBoSo has once again created a convincing program that doesn’t leave the sim racer searching to understand the physics. As with the Formula car in the World Racing Series demo, the kart feels ‘planted’ and it doesn’t take long before progression goes from tip-toeing around the course to finding breath-holding moments as one reaches for the limits of adhesion, new lines and tarmac boundaries.
Thanks to a good level of control that should only require a little time in the Settings tab, it’s easy to feel at home through what feels like a direct connection between machine and in this case, the force-feedback wheel. Looking back to some time with an earlier ‘beta’ build of World Racing Series, that link is a trait of PiBoSo’s simulation work. It reaches the driver as the sense of an unfettered reaction between car and input that big-budget studios all too frequently haven’t approached.
It’s a sim to try!
