Redout 2 Launch Delayed Until June 16th, 2022

Life doesn’t always go exactly to plan, and having mentioned the original May release date when the original game in the series was recently made available for free for a limited time, we’ve now seen the Redout 2 launch delayed until June 16th, 2022.

The futuristic racing sequel is only being pushed back 21 days, and will still be published for the PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, and the Nintendo Switch. Like the original, it’s inspired by anti-gravity race titles including Wipeout and F-Zero. But there will now be 36 unique race tracks, which are all reversible. Along with 12-player online competition, and modes including Last Man Standing and Boss Races.

And given the sometimes harsh reception for new releases, or the alternative of putting out a product with significant flaws, we’d always support developers choosing to wait slightly longer to publish when they feel the time is right. Especially when 3 weeks isn’t a huge amount of time for anyone to wait for the new game.

Customisation has also been increased, with challenges and seasons offering unique rewards, and a wide selection of parts and paint to apply to your choice of 12 distinct chassis. It also includes a photo mode, along with a soundtrack including Giorgio Moroder, Zardonic and Dance with the Dead, using an algorithm to seamlessly mix the tracks base on real-time race data.

Redout 2 is being developed by 34BigThings, and published by Saber Interactive.

Update: You can now find Redout 2 for the PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, or the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store. And for the Switch via the Nintendo eShop.
