Also coming to the game for the first time is the McLaren Shadow Project, which aims to find the fastest sim racers. Qualification has already taken place in rFactor 2 and Forza Motorsport 7, with Project Cars 2 also featuring. In Assetto Corsa Competizione it turns from October 27th until November 7th, 2019, with a 10 minute hot lap challenge around Silverstone in the McLaren 720S GT3.

The McLaren Shadow project comes to ACC

But for those of us not focused on competing in the McLaren search, there’s a lot more to focus on with the new Assetto Corsa Competizione update.

Circuit Zandvoort:

The historic Dutch track is part of the venues available in Assetto Corsa, the previous AC game from Kunos Simulazioni. And as part of the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe series, it’s a necessary addition to the game.

It’s an historic circuit, with racing officially beginning back in 1948 on what is now a 4.3km (2.6 mile) 14 turn layout. It’s famous for fast sweeping corners including Scheivlak, and the cambered Tarzanbocht turn.

It’s also famous for being located in the sand dunes near the coast. And it will be hosting the F1 Dutch Grand Prix from 2020 for at least the next three years.

A total of six new cars have been mentioned for ACC V1.1, and some have already been shared by Kunos Simulazioni.

There’s the new 2019 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO, with better aero, a wider operational window, suspension geometry improvements and more.

You’ll also get to try the 2019 Audi R8 LMS, which received extra weight to balance the performance of the car after the 2018 season, which added to the challenge of driving it. But that’s balanced by improvements to aerodynamics, suspension, chassis and electronics. And you can find out whether they worked or not…

The final car previewed so far is the 2019 Aston Martin GT3 with the new V8 bi-turbo engine, lots of mechanical grip, and sophisticated aerodynamics.

That leaves two more cars to be previewed, plus the rest of the major update details. There’s no exact date confirmed for the release of Assetto Corsa Competizione V1.1, but it will be available soon via Steam. The game itself costs £34.99 with all officially licensed content from the 2018 and 2019 Blancpain GT series, including the cars, teams and circuits.
