gRally Version 1.1.0.0 Adds Procedural Stages

May 24, 2020 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

As an indie project which grew out of the love for the realistic and tricky Richard Burns Rally, gRally has progressed in fits and starts for many years until it appeared on Steam Early Access in 2018. And now to celebrate the second anniversary of that date, gRally Version 1.1.0.0 adds procedural stages and other improvements.

Developed and published by ghiboz (the name of main developer Paolo Ghibaudo and the small team contributing their spare time to the project), there is a fairly length changlog for the update. And shows that the project is continuing to evolve.

Without any official licences, the new Infinity feature for creating rally stages should mean more terrain for you to be able to drive, without as much work for the developers.

And with Unity tools, the aim is to be a modding-orientated rally driving simulator. So you can add your own cars and tracks.

gRally Changelog v1.1.0.0

Added:

  • Procedural Stages;
  • G1: digital gear indicator;
  • G2: digital gear indicator;- Physics on signs;
  • Surface sounds;
  • 30″ time penalty if you recover the car;
  • Stage surfaces on roadbook stage;
  • Management of controllers settings files (save and load);
  • Car paint on live rallies;

Improvements:

  • Updated to Unity 2018
  • Rendering fluency

  • “Select replay file” message if any replay file isn’t selected
  • Replay list
  • Replay camera stuttering
  • Replay file (save livery, date time and other geo settings)
  • Replay camera management

Procedural Stage improvements

  • Dynamic collider to trees and objects
  • Live rally with procedural stages
  • Wrong distance at startup
  • Procedural stages from url
  • Crossroad meshes
  • Procedural stage world position

If the info above, or the fact that gRally Version 1.1.0.0 adds procedural stages has peaked your interest, you can download gRally via Steam Early Access for £9.29.
