iRacing 2022 Season 1 Patch 1 Hotfix 1 Released

January 14, 2022 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

There are some changes to popular cars, and some important fixes for Daytona International Speedway, with iRacing 2022 Season 1 Patch 1 Hotfix 1 released to download now for the weekend. The 175MB download also tackles a tyre issue which could have had serious implications on your race performance.

With the Daytona 24 Hour event coming up, and the 2.4 hour solo endurance Roar starting today, iRacing have fixed a couple of issues with the latest version of the famous American circuit, which arrived just a few days ago. Notably a bump on pit exit, and an issue with an invisible extra bump on the back-straight curb have been resolved before they upset the results of any big events.

The Patch also rebalances the spring damper yield and break limits for the GT4 class, and fixes an issue with spring and damper strength for the recently released Hyundai Elantra N TC, where the values were a lot lower than the other TCR cars.

And there are some tweaks to the attention-grabbing Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance, with fine brake bias now adjustable in the garage, but limited to + or – 1%, and you can now see your dynamic brake bias on-screen when you’re sat in the car.

As someone planning on driving the Hyundai this evening in the Roar event, it’s a patch I’m fairly happy to see arrive before the event kicks off!

It also fixes a tyre issue, with grass, dirt and debris could appear to be carried over from a previous session, even though you’re on fresh tyres. It’s not entirely clear from the notes if that’s purely a performance problem, but it sounds that way, which was obviously an issue if you jumped out of a long practice or qualifying session on worn rubber, only to end up starting a race with dirt and debris still impacting your grip. Without finding any previous reports or notes, I can only point to a race before this patch was released where myself and another driver started a qualifying session feeling like something was wrong with the tyres, and for me it vanished after pitting.
