The first group of cars are getting a new tyre model, sound engine, fresh balance of peformance, engine and brake cooling, and new shift protection as rFactor 2 updates the Oreca 07 LMP2 and GTE class.
It means a total of seven cars are being changed, with the latest tyre specifications coming following detailed work and data sharing with Goodyear, and matching the level of the Formula Pro and BMW Class 1.
Changing the tyres and physics model also required that the balance of performance needed reworking for the GTE class, which hopefully should mean close competition while also allowing for each car to have different advantages and downsides. And all GTE cars have also have their fuel tank capacities balanced against each other.
Along with the new sound engine, there’s the new rFactor 2 shift protection feature, and the new engine and brake cooling feature released in the Q2 2022 update. If you own rFactor 2, the update should automatically be queued up when you open Steam.
