WRC 9 Announced With WRC 10 and 11 Confirmed

March 24, 2020 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

The future of the rally series is now mapped out as we’ve seen WRC 9 announced with WRC 10 and 11 confirmed for the future. And the ninth installment of the official World Rally Championship game will be due for release on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on September 3rd, 2020.

The game will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 at a later date.

Publisher Nacon (formerly the videogame part of BigBen), and developers KT Racing will also continue their licensing agreement with WRC Promotor until 2022 for the releases of WRC 10 and WRC 11, presumably on the same annual release schedule.

French developers KT Racing have expanded the Career mode for WRC 9 with new opportunities to upgrade your team, a wider variety of events, and a stronger link to what real-world WRC teams are doing during their season, plus enhanced gameplay mechanics.

There will also be three new rally events to tackle with the return of the Safari Rally in Kenya, plus the addition of both Rally Japan and Rally New Zealand. Plus two other rallies get completely redesign environments.

Plus there is car news. In addition to increasing the realism of car physics, including suspension, braking and mass transfer, KT Racing have also focused on improving the sound of the game. And there will apparently be more than 15 bonus cars that “have left their mark on the history of WRC” in addition to more than 50 official teams and liveries from WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 and Junior WRC.

So that’s WRC 9 announced with WRC 10 and 11 confirmed. Good news for fans of the series, and for rally racers in general. KT Racing (also known as Kylotonn) have been the developers of the official game since WRC 5 in 2015, so they’ve been able to evolve it over time to keep improving the experience.

KT Racing and Nacon’s most recent release has been TT Isle of Man 2.

Keep up to date with the latest news on WRC 9, WRC 10 and WRC 11. Or you can pick up a copy of WRC 8 while you wait. Physical copies are available from Game and Amazon, along with previous games from the series, which dates back to 2002 and the PlayStation 2.

You can also find the digital edition available for the Xbox One via the Microsoft Store, the PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store (currently on sale with 68% off), the Switch via the Nintendo Store, and the Epic Games Store for the PC. It’s also listed for Steam release in September 2020.
