Wreckfest Season 2 Promises New Cars and Tracks

September 14, 2020 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Not to be confused with the tournament seasons, Wreckfest Season 2 promises new cars and tracks with a very short teaser video from BugBear Entertainment.

There’s no more information yet, but the first season pass included 8 DLC packs, so you can probably expect something similar for Season 2. And a new pass might include an exclusive car.

It will be interesting to see what Bugbear Entertainment have planned for Wreckfest. It’s a fun game which combines decent racing with the fun of destroying your opponents, and there’s a wide range of free modded content already available, along with the various rewards for taking part in the four tournament seasons so far.

With free access to DLC content when it appears as a tournament event, and a small number of vehicles available by earning fame points, it seemed that the game might be heading into a more free-to-play direction. But as Wreckfest Season 2 promises new cars and tracks, it suggests there will be new paid DLC coming, with previous packs costing £3.29 each if they included new cars, and less for purely cosmetic additions.

The Wreckfest Season 2 Teaser

The teaser trailer doesn’t offer much, except for glimpses of two cars which appear to be inspired by a 1969 Dodge Charger and a Ford Crown Victoria (most often associated with the Police Interceptor model).

But we’ll just have to see what Season 2 brings from developers Bugbear Entertainment and publishers THQ Nordic. Hopefully the tournament mode will continue to be improved, as it’s one of the main reasons to keep coming back to the game, alongside the wonderful chaos of online multiplayer.

It’s been a while since the last paid DLC was released in July 2020, alongside two new free circuits. We’ll keep you informed with all the latest Wreckfest news, updates and content, right here. And you can see all the vehicles officially available in the game, from motorised toilets to trucks, with our Wreckfest Car List.

You can buy Wreckfest digitally on Steam for the PC, on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and the PlayStation Store for PS4. Or via Game or Amazon.
