Reiza Studios have shared a range of fixes and improves for their racing sim with Automobilista 2 Update V1.6.5 now available to download.
One change is that you can now launch straight into the multiplayer lobby via a web browser, which isn’t something I’d tend to use. But it could be handy if you want to link to a specific server from your website, Discord or league management site, rather than making people search for it.
The other more notable changes include further tyre physics improvements which might be more or less noticeable depending on which car or class you’re driving. For example, tread friction fade, slick wetness and carcass sidewall adjustments. The sort of things that I’d probably be completely oblivious about, but my alien sim racing friends would sport immiedtaely.
Most of the other changes are fairly minor, fixing graphical issues or making changes including headlight colours from sepcific cars, adjusting AI drag effects and fuel ranges, and preventing some cars from spawning on the pit wall at Virginia South, as well as problems with multiplayer involving jump starts, formation laps and two-heat championships.
If you don’t already own Automobilista 2 or all the DLC, then it’s worth checking out the 2025 Steam Summer Sale right now, as the standard game is reduced by 90% to £3.49 until July 10th, along with 25-50% discounts on all DLC, with most half price. And at that price, it’s a bargain even if you mainly drive other sim racing titles. Especially given some of the more unusual cars and circuits available.
