As an arcade racing game also due for release on consoles this year, a Formula Legends PC demo is now available on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest from June 9th until June 16th, 2025.
It’s developed and published on PC by 3DClouds, who have also worked on Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem, PAW Patrol: Grand Prix and All Star Fruit Racing. But there’s a very different approach for Formula Legends, which allows you to race cars from the past 70 years of open-wheel racing, with tracks inspired by classic circuits around the world.

While it’s still arcade focused, you also get strategy elements including tyre wear, fuel consumption, racing lines rubbering in, simulated damage and changeable weather, which gives it a bit more depth. The demo version allows you to try out three configurations (Vintage, Classic and Modern) of the Ardennes GP track in Belgium. And you also get to pick cars, drivers and teams inspired by those competing in the mid 1970s, mid 1990s or the modern era. You’re able to take part in qualifying, races up to 10 laps, and a Time Trial mode with online leaderboards.

“We were blown away by the reception to Formula Legends when it was announced earlier this year and now we’re delighted to release the first demo on PC,” said Francesco Bruschi, CEO of 3DClouds. “We’re accelerating towards the next stage of development but we need all racing game fans (casual, hardcore, aspirational) to tell us what they think about Formula Legends so we can take its development to the next level.”
The full game will feature 16 unique car models across different eras of open wheel racing, with seven different liveries to choose from, inspired by the most iconic teams from each period. At launch there will be 14 circuits available, along with 200 fictional drivers, with skill perks giving them different strengths to rely on in races.
The Story Mode will take you through history with era-based championships, or you can create your own custom events. The Time Attack will feature global leaderboards for the fastest times. And there will be mod support to personalise cars, crash helmets and trackside sponsors etc.

Formula Legends will be released for the PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2025. You can wishlist it now for the PC via Steam or Epic Games. And keep up with the latest Formula Legends news and more, here.
