With the big Season 3 update launched on June 10th during the start of Week 13, further fixes and improvements have already arrived with iRacing 2025 Season 3 Patch 1 released.
General changes include enabling the Connection Black Flag for hosted sessions, so you can enable an automatic return to the pits for people with intermittent and unstable server issues. There was also a problem with AI drivers having issues if they were on gravel or mud for too long.
Ride height rules have also been changed so that they are specific for each available tyre type, covering GTP and TCR classes, the BMW M2 CSR, the Mazda MX-5 Cup, the Renault Clio R.S V, Super Formula Lights and the Toyota GR86. The touring cars also had an issue fixed with cars rolling on the start line positions, and the Audi RS3 LMS TCR has had the handbrake moved to control the front brakes, so you can use it to help standing starts.
Which all makes sense – I’ve personally had some issues trying to switch set-ups and understand why they’re failing in the Production Car Challenge races using the Clio, as an example. Hopefully it’ll be easier to tune for each type of condition without issues, or people swapping set-ups to get around ride height rules…
Various tracks have had some minor graphical glitches fixed, and night racing is now possible at more ovals.
