Since releasing the popular retro 1990s Super Touring DLC at the end of 2024, sim racing fans of the era have been hoping to see the roster expanded. And now RaceRoom reveals Alfa Romeo and Opel Super Touring cars will be arriving as part of the Q2 2025 update.

The Alfa Romeo 156
The Alfa Romeo 156 was introduced in 1996 and competed in the World, European, British and Italian Touring Car championships, with Fabrizio Giovanardi winning five cups and championships in both Italy and Europe, and a further title for Gabriele Tarquinini in 2003. The D2 version with 1,997cc and 306hp was used until 2002 when the GTA Super 2000 arrived to meet new specifications with a 1,998cc and 256hp engine. It was supposed to race in the 1998 BTCC, but the official entry never participated, so the first appearance was as a Class B Super Production car in 2000.

The version in RaceRoom will feature Super Tourenwagen Cup liveries and driver names, along with some from the Swedish Tourcing Car Championship.
The Opel Vectra
Also sold as the Holden Vectra in Australia, the Chevrolet Vectra in Latin America, and most importantly as a UK-based sim racer the Vauxhall Vectra, it replaced the similarly popular Cavalier on British roads in 1995, having been introduced as a model by Open a few years earlier in other markets.

And it traced in pretty much every touring car series, including in France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Germany and more, notably taking John Cleland to the BTCC championship in 1995, and regularly competing for titles in the following years, along with taking Nicklas Karlsson to a Swedish title in 2002. As a 1999 car it put out 195bhp at 8400rpm from the 2 litre engine.
Again it seems that the car will be available with Super Tourenwagen Cup liveries and driver names. There’s no sign of any BTCC liveries unfortunately, possibly due to the signing of a new non-exclusive license between TOCA and Motorsport Games last year, or the fact that RaceRoom has a longstanding relationship with the German racing series making it much quicker and easier to get the rights to use those driver names and liveries without needing any extra discusions or payments.

There’s no news on whether the new cars will be bundled into the existing Super Touring DLC pack for Raceroom, alonside the Honda Accord, Volvo 850, Volvo S40, BMW 320I E36 and Audi A4 or whether they’ll be a separate duo as well as becoming available individually, but a lot of older sim racing and motorsport fans will be happy to see them in any case. More details are set to be revealed during the RaceRoom Grid Talk Youtube show on Thursday, June 19th, 2025.
