One of the highlights in sim racing is being able to enjoy car and track combinations which are no longer available. And KW Studios continue to embrace that as RaceRoom tease the Alemannenring street circuit for their Q2 2025 update along with two more classic Super Touring cars, and the much more modern BMW M Hybrid V8 LMDh hypercar.
The Alemannenring existed for four years between 1991 and 1995 on public roads in the industrial area of Singen in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, hosting an annual DTM event. It featured a typically Germanic approach of using mostly four lane public roads in a fairly rectangular shape with just eight turns in a total length of 1.740 miles (2.8km).

It fits well with the Super Touring cars, along with the 1992 and 1995 DTM classes available in RaceRoom. The fastest laps are held by Bern Schneider with his Group A Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 EVO2 lapping in 1:18.160, and Dario Franchitti in his Class 1 Touring Car Merces-Benz C-Klasse V6 achieving 1:14.530 in 1995 and handily both cars are available in the DTM packs for their respective years.
A version of the circuit has been available for a while as a mod for Assetto Corsa, but this will be the first time it’s appeared as an official release as far as I’m aware. And while the layout may appear fairly simple, it means close racing, along with high kerbs and close barriers to punish mistakes.

While I completely understand the reason RaceRoom needs to include popular modern tracks and car classes to appeal to a wide audience, I’m far more interested and excited when they add more classic classes and circuits to stand out from other sim racing titles. I don’t get to spend as much time racing on it as I’d like, but when I do, it tends to be to try out content which isn’t easily available elsewhere, and it’s a reminder to see what classic touring car leagues are running at the moment.
You can download Raceroom Racing Experience on the PC for free via Steam. Some additional content is available via Steam, but everything can be purchased via the official game store.
