Inspired by the release of the new F1 film, there’s a special gold Trak Racer Racing TRX Limited Edition model currently available. Just 100 examples are available worldwide of the sim racing rig and seat, which was co-designed with Formula One racing engineers from the Alpine F1 team.
While it might have open wheel tie-ins, the Trak Racer TRX is a hybrid Formula and GT sim rig with a lot of tool-free adjustability to position the pedal plate, wheel mount and seat assembly in exactly the right place for comfortable and realistic racing.

The strengthened pedal plate will handle up to 180kgs of braking force without flexing, and uses a sliding mechanism to allow movement forwards and back, along with height and angle adjustments. The same approach is taken with the wheel and seat mounting. So you can quickly and easily switch between Formula and GT set-ups, or just make smaller changes to get everything in the right place for your personal preferences.
The Trak Racer Racing TRX Limited Edition comes with the included gold fibreglass seat and a five year warranty. It costs £1,529.00 if you’re one of the 100 people able to secure one. By contrast, the existing existing Alpine Racing TRX is available in black or blue for £999, but you’ll also need a a matching seat costing an additional £296.10, taking the total to £1,295.10.
Anything limited edition will always have a slight price premium, but the golden finish does look quite cool, and makes a change from the standard black or grey for most sim racing set-ups. And while you’re free to attempt something similar with a can of gold spray paint, I know from previous experience that I’d rather pay for a professional finish if I’m going to be living with it for years.
You can pre-order the Track Racer Racing TRX Limited Edition now via the official website, with stock due to arrive in early August 2025. And if you’re starting from scratch, Trak Racer can also supply bundles with a wheelbase, pedals, wheel, shifter and handbrake, along with assembly if needed. If your budget doesn’t quite stretch far enough, you can also check out our coverage of sim racing cockpits and rigs for every sim racer, here.
