Three Hypercars Arrive In The RaceRoom Q3 2025 Update

September 18, 2025 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Due for release on September 24th, three Hypercars arrive in the RaceRoom Q3 2025 Update, with the promise of a full simulation of the hybrid system, ICE engine maps, and Virtual Energy management.

The trio of LMDh machines will be the BMW M Hybrid V8, the Lamborghini SC63, and the Porsche 963. No details have been released yet for any DLC pricing, but they’re the first prototype cars to have been developed for RaceRoom in a couple of years, with at least two more in progress for the future.

It’s been a little while since the new class was added to World Endurance and IMSA, and it’s a popular choice for sim racers, with the cars available in various other titles. But there have been issues in how they’ve been implemented, most notably in iRacing.

The new cars may attract some more people to try out RaceRoom or return to it, particularly if the hybrid and energy systems are authentic. But that’s not all that’s being included in the update, as the Renault Laguna Super Touring has also been confirmed, along with a new ranked multiplayer UI.

Probably the biggest change will be with a comprehensive graphics update, as the visuals in RaceRoom have long been one of the biggest criticisms from people who like their sims to look great without spending a lot of time fiddling with graphics settings. Already mentioned are more realistic lighting, physics-based rendering, improved reflections and performance optimisations, which hopefully don’t mean older computers will struggle to enjoy the improvements. But certainly the early screens shared by RaceRoom do look pretty good.

I’ve always felt RaceRoom has been overlooked by many sim racers based purely on the fact it looks older and more dated than some rivals. So I’ve got big hopes that the update and graphics overhaul could generate more interest in a sim that’s always had good handling and physics.

You can download Raceroom Racing Experience on the PC for free via Steam. Some additional content is available via Steam, but everything can be purchased via the official game store.
