The cost of a direct drive sim racing set-up continues to fall even further with the new PXN V10 Ultra and V10 Pro DD racing bundles launched by the Chinese manufacturer. And prices start from just £269.99 for the Ultra.
For that price you get a 3.2Nm DD wheelbase which works across PC, PlayStation and XBox consoles with software for PC and mobile to fine tune your settingssettings, aluminium alloy paddle shifters and a 270mm PU leather wheel. And in the PXN V10 Ultra Kit, you also get a two-pedal set with Hall Effect sensors, which can be bought directly from PXN or via Amazon.

The PXN V10 Pro DD racing bundle is only available through the regional distributors and sellers for the products, and the big difference is that you also get a clutch pedal included as standard. Pricing will depend on where you’re located.
Whether it’s worth considering will depend on your budget and what you want to use it for. The closest competitor would be the Moza R3 Racing Bundle, which costs £299 for the PC, or £359.99 with Xbox compability direct, but can also be picked up from other retailers like OverClockers in the UK. And slightly higher than the currently discounted Logitech 923 with their Trueforce feedback system.
It’s probably not unfair on PXN to say that Moza and Logitech have established themselves more in sim racing, particularly towards the mid and high-end level of equipment. And will definitely hold their price better if you decide to sell your kit to fund an upgrade. But without testing the PXN V10 for ourselves, I can’t comment on build quality or the level of force feedback – certainly from talking with Moza owners, even the lower-powered direct drive wheels are a step up from gear-driven wheelbases if you’re on a tight budget. And the compatibility across PC, PlayStation and Xbox is unusual, as normally it’s a choice between working on Sony consoles or Microsoft for licensing.
