There’s a new cost-effective option for upgrading your sim racing setup as the new PXN GT One steering wheel launches at £199 with an initial 9% discount on the standard cost of £219.
It’s the first 300mm GT3 and Formula wheel from Chinese brand, aimed at entry and mid-level set-ups. Obviously it’s fully compatible with the PXN range of VD Series direct drive wheelbases, but it can also be used with other set-ups via a USB cable and the Z QS Quick Release adapter (a separate £19.99 purchase) which supports standard 50-70mm quick release hubs.

If you’re tempted to try the PXN GT One, you’ll get a fairly light fibreglass composite frame with a carbon fibre finish, 12 backlit buttons, 3 rotary encoders, 2 thumb encoders, 2 seven-way funky switches, magnetic carbon fibre shifters and dual clutch paddles. The 1400-1500g weight is a good thing if you’re using a lower-power direct drive wheelbase like the PXN VD4 and VD6 (or the Moza R5).
At this price level, you can’t expect built-in screens, but you go get 15 RPM LEDs, and the option to customise the colours etc via the PXN SimRacing software or SimHub, along with the 8-bit colour tuning for the buttons. You can also set the dual clutch paddles to Combined Axis, Independent Axis and Button modes to fit whichever car, sim and personal preferences you have.

At £219, the new PXN GT One steering wheel is competitively priced, with a feature list that matches up to existing rivals. And if you were thinking about a PXN wheel base, it also comes bundled with the VD6 at a sale price of £469, or the VD10 at £509.
