Being developed as an indie trucking sim with RPG elements for the PC and PlayStation 5 by Road Studio S.A, you’ll be able to try it for yourself with a Road Truckers: New Beginning playtest and demo due soon.
The previous game from Road Studio was Alaskan Road Truckers, released in 2023, which has a mixed rating on Steam. This time you’re a truck driver from the town of Esperanza in a country named Vale Rico, and the local community has chipped in to fund your first truck, so it’s good that your deliveries along treacherous jungle roads will help restore the environment and economy.

Along the way you’ll be able to upgrade and improve your truck, transform a derelict airstrip into your base, and also be able to explore on foot to eat, sleep and interact with people throughout the envireonment who may give you new quests and tasks to complete.

“Our maps are massive. We have two in the game, and want to add more in the game’s life cycle. The first one, smaller than the second but still huge, will be fully available in the playtest – and it’s just a fraction of the roads you’ll find in the full game,” says Michal Puczynski, creative director of the project. The claim is that the playtest and demo will have content comparable to some full games to test player onboarding online with stability.
“We need to teach the player how to drive, how to maintain the truck, how to eat, sleep, cure diseases, upgrade the base, use the workshops, find help when stranded, etc. Player onboarding is a big task, and we hope that players will help us make it the best it can be.”
