The 1999 Panoz AIV Roadster is the latest car to be added as a free download for rFactor 2. And while it shares enough components to be able to be serviced at any Ford dealership, the figures for the Mustang-powered car include 0-60mph in 4. seconds with a top speed of 135mph.
But more important is the double wishbone suspension, a near 50/50 weight distribution and light weight at around 1170kg. That and a limited slip diff means it’s a fun and easy to control car which also lends itself to drifting.
There’s no ABS so you’ll need to let them warm a little, with some fade from around 650 C. There’s no adjustable brake bias, and 5th gear is redundant for racing, as it was designed purely for highway use. You’ll get a bit of oversteer when you lift, and some power oversteer if you floor the accelerator. How much more fun do you want for free?
