Earlier today, Mazda announced that the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, months before the car will go on sale to the public, is coming to the Forza Horizon 2. Beginning March 17th, gamers will have the exclusive opportunity to drive the new Miata MX-5 for free. Those heading to this week’s South by Southwest Gaming Expo in Austin, Texas will be able to drive the 2016 MX-5 before everyone else at Mazda’s booth.
According to Mazda, this will be the ultimate test drive for fans of the MX-5. Forza Horizon 2 will provide gamers the chance to explore the car in incredible detail both inside and out using Forza’s unique Autovista feature. Along with the new MX-5, the new Mazda MX-5 Car Pack will feature several MX-5 models including the 2010 MX-5 Super20 SEMA concept car, the 1990 MX-5 and the 2005 MAZDASPEED MX-5.
Mazda has also announced a new Time Trials Rivals Contest exclusive to Forza Horizon 2 gamers. The contest will run between the pack’s release on March 17th till April 30th. Gamers will compete in the “Mazda MX-5 Challenge” Rival Mode to post the best times on Horizon 2’s Sisteron Perimeter Sprint Track. This June, the two fastest players will be flown to Los Angeles to compete in a head-to-head, winner-take-all race with the winner receiving a new 2016 MX-5. To enter, gamers will have to navigate to the Mazda MX-5 ad landing experience via any of the MX-5 ads and answer the prompts.
