As much as we love sim racing, sometimes we fancy something a bit different. And Road Defender is certainly something a bit different as it is being set up to seek funding via Kickstarter.
After all, how many times have you played a ‘post apocalyptic convoy survival’ game?
What it means is basically you have a convoy of trucks and cars, similar to the chase scene at the end of the Mad Max film ‘The Road Warrior’, and you can set the formation, grow your convoy and upgrade weapons and other power ups. Or at least you will as the game continues to be developed. And you control it all from the view of a Gyrocopter pilot overseeing the action.
So it’s being developed by a small team of 4 artists, 1 programmer and 1 person managing as the project lead and audio guy, and it’s estimated to take around 6 months to be ready to start playing, coming to PC/Mac/Linux first.
So if you fancy something with an 80’s flavour for the visuals and audio, and a strategic change from racing games, then you might want to keep at eye on Road Defender as Part12 Studios continue work and set up their Kickstarter appeal.

Hi Caleb,
It’s our pleasure – it looks really interesting, and who hasn’t watched something like The Road Warrior and thought they might be able to do a better job of defending the tanker!
Dan
exactly! 馃檪 With this you’ll have lots of options to upgrade and strategies to try!
