Open to all NASCAR Heat 5 racers on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the new Winter Heat Series offers a $47,000 prize pool and the chance to race against top eSports drivers.
The new eSports competition is organised by MotorSport Games, with four races taking place between November 2020 and February 2021. It’s separate from the official eNASCAR Heat Pro League, but 10 teams (Chip Ganassi Gaming, Gibbs Gaming, JR Motorsports, JTG Daugherty Throttlers, Petty eSports, RCR eSports, Roush Fenway Gaming, Stewart-Haas eSports, Team Penske eSports and Wood Brothers Gaming) are all taking part.
Qualification for the first race, the Movember 50, runs until the end of Thursday, November 12th, with the top 24 drives on each console platform then competing online on November 22nd around Dover International Speedway, and the race is being run in partnership with the Movember Foundation to help raise awareness and funds for men’s health.
“The Winter Heat Series is a fun and unique way for everyday gamers to showcase their skills against eNASCAR Heat Pro League drivers, while also competing for their share of a $47,000 prize pool,” eNHPL General Manager Jay Pennell said. “Each month’s events will showcase a different theme that will allow for competitors to have fun and help fill the void left in the winter months by the NASCAR off-season.”
Fortunately, there’s a bit more time to prepare and practice for the races in December and January, with the top finishers going forward to compete in the Valentine Day 80 in February, which serves as the grand final.
Winter Heat Series 2020-2021 Schedule:
- Movember 50 Qualifying: 10th-13th November, 2020
- Movember 50 Race: 22nd November, 2020.
- Holiday 60 Qualifying: 7-10th December, 2020
- Holiday 60 Race: 20th December, 2020
- New Years 70 Qualifying: 11-14th January, 2021.
- New Years 70 Race: 24th January, 2021
- Valentine Day 80 Race: 13th February, 2021.
The Movember 50 takes place at Dover International Speedway, the Holiday 60 at Homestead Miami Speedway, the New Years Resolution 70 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Valentine’s Day 80 at Daytona International Speedway.
