iRacing 2021 Season 2 Patch 6 Released

May 13, 2021 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

There are some interesting changes in iRacing 2021 Season 2 Patch 6, which is now available to download. And the biggest is probably that tyre parameters have been changes for road courses for every NASCAR car and truck, from the 1987 vintage models to the new Next Gen Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota.

Presumably it will improve the feel of those vehicles when they’re tackling road courses, but we’ll have to wait and see what the changes mean. The NASCAR Cup Series cars also get adjustment to how brake pads dynamically heat up and some of the ranges of adjustment available, while the Next Gen models get some cosmetic and audio improvements. Sadly the update does remove an excessive reverse gear ratio bug, so it’ll be harder to cross the line backwards for the win in future.

The open wheel Dallara IR18 also gets some updated setups, ahead of the iRacing Indy 500 fixed setup racing over the coming weekend.
