Pre-registration begins for KartRider: Drift

You can unlock a special character by signing up as pre-registration begins for KartRider: Drift. The latest in the series developed by Nexon is a free-to-play party racing game, and yet it also has the longest running eSports league in the world, having run in Korea since 2005.

With a big following across Asia, KartRider: Drift will be launched on PC (via Steam or Nexon’s own launcher), Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and mobile. And if you sign up in advance, you’ll receive the special Model Student Diz character at launch. Each platform also has an exclusive character and kart theme which will be available if you play the game within 90 days of launch.

Since the original title in the franchise was launched, more than 300 million players have tried the kart racing title. The latest in the series will have a fast-paced ‘Speed Mode’, the chance to use items to attack enemies or defend allies in ‘Item Mode’ or a ‘Custom Race’ option. And the cross-platform play includes those competing on a mobile device, meaning you really will be up against everyone around the world.

You’ll also be able to ‘endlessly’ customise your driver and kart when the game arrives some time in 2022. So if you’re interested in potentially swapping sim racing for competitive party kart competition, then you can visit the pre-registration site, here.

The latest of three Closed Beta periods finished in March, so it’s likely the game will be appearing fairly soon, although there’s no confirmed release date or details on in-app purchases.

You’ll be able to find Kartrider: Drift on Steam for the PC, the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the PlayStation Store for the PS4, the App Store for iOS devices, and the Google Play store for Android devices. And you can keep up with the latest Kartrider: Drift news, updates, DLC and more, here.
