The touge racing title set in Hong Kong has taken a while to progress from a demo available earlier this year. But things are moving once again with Rev To Vertex released on Steam Early Access.
Originally announced back in 2022 for a release at the end of that year, the release is accompanied by an update which adds new features including sections of the second “Tolo Highway” route, which is a major expressway on Route 9 in Hong King and combines both city roads and mountain paths. It’s part of the ambitious plan by developers Plutonization to eventually replicate Hong Kong at a 1:1 virtual scale. The new route joins the first location, Route Twisk.
The Rev To Vertex Early Access update also adds a new Free Play mode, allowing you to pick any car and track or sector combination, plus an update to the Training mode to help you learn both of the currently available routes.

Another new addition is the choice to change between clear and wet weather, which means the road conditions can be made more challenging. And there’s also the news of multiplayer mode, which is currently planned to arrive in ‘late September 2023’.
Slightly more concerning is that developers Plutonization have had to apologise for delays to content includes in limited DLC packs. Hopefully that won’t be an issue which crops up again in the future.
The current plan is that Rev To Vertex will be in Early Access until the end of 2023, costing £18.80, which appears to be a discount of 30% from the planned full version price, although the wording around prices is a little confusing at best.
