After releasing a first isometric racing game in 2021, there’s now a sequel on the way from ViJuDa, with Super Woden GP 2 announced for November 18, 2023.
And the Spanish independent developer has ovehauled the experience with a rebuilt 3D physics system, which is one reason to upgrade if you’re a fan of the original. Along with a selection of 180 cars from nine fictional manufacturers, which might remind you of some familiar motorsport icons, along with the ability to rename them in-game if you want.
Not only does this expand the roster from 70 in the original, but you’ll also be able to repair and upgrade them to race in a range of mods including arcade, time trials, championships, rallies, online, and local multiplayer for up to four people. And it also brings new seasonal events refreshing every two weeks to try and top the global leaderboards.
One of the stand out features from other overhead and isometric racing games promises to be the level of customisation. Along with car names and logos, you also have the ability to add your own music alongside the original sountrack. And apparently it’ll all be in the intuitive main menu inspired by classic Gran Turismo titles. So it should be a familiar experience to navigate.
The original Super Woden GP is currently available for the PC via Steam, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft store, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, and the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. There’s no confirmed price or plans for console versions for Super Woden GP 2, but you can wishlist it now for the PC on Steam.
