Already boasting a diverse selection of cars, one of the big gaps in the sim could soon be filled as RaceRoom tease the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh GTP as something coming soon.
Having recently released some well-received retro content with the Super Touring DLC, and having just delivered a big update with new circuits and drift cars earlier this month, KW Studios previously added their first Lamborghini, the Huracan GT3 EVO as part of the DTM 2024 content pack last summer due to a new licensing deal.
But the Lamborghini SC63 is more notable as it will be the first LMDh sports prototype to be available in the racing sim as a current FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar, and IMSA SportsCar Championship GTP entry.
Announced in 2022, the 671hp output comes from a 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged V8 and a rear mounted Bosh electric engine. It was entered by the Iron Lynx team in both WEC and selected IMSA events in 2024 with the LMP2-based carbon fibre monocoque holding drivers including Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara, finished tenth in class it the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours race with the #63 entry.
The car was revealed in a social media post, with the recognisable Y-shape rear lights giving the game away.
Until the arrival of the Lamborghini, the most modern prototype sportscar available in the sim is the Mazda RT24 DPI, which sits alone in a DPI Mazda class. That car was originally unveiled in 2016, and built for the 2017 IMSA regulations.
And it follows what appeared to be a teaser for the BMW M Hybrid V8 LMDh posted on Instagram back in October 2024, suggesting there will be at least two cars coming to a new LMDh class in the near future.
If you can’t wait for the Lamborghini SC63 to appear in RaceRoom, it is already available in Le Mans Ultimate in the 2024 Pack 1 DLC alongside the Peuegeot 9X8.
