Not to be confused with the Unleashed series developed by Milestone, Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed launches for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Switch.
The new game is based on the Let’s Race animated series rather than the broader line of diecast model cars, so it has the relevant characters and cars for a younger audience. Developed by Bamtang Games, it’s published by GameMill Entertainment, who previously put out Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem last year.

I’ve played the Unleashed games a reasonable amount, but I’m not a Hot Wheels collector or in the target audience for the Netflix series. Apparently it features someone called Coop and his six racing camp friends, who are apparently up against the car-hating Professor Rearview who wants to destroy Hot Wheels City with giant animals.
As you can probably imagine by now, it’s a family-friendly racing game for younger players, with 12 tracks based on the series, five gameplay modes including Racing Camp, Cup Champ, Speed Trials, Track Builder, and Free Races, and the option to play solo or with up to four players in local split-screen multiplayer.
The car lineup includes iconic Hot Wheels vehicles, including the GT-Scorcher, Super Twin Mill, Roger Dodger and Duck N’ Roll, with new cars, decals and track parts earned via ‘flame badges’.

There’s a standard version of Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed available for £34.99, a Digital Deluxe Edition for £44.99 which bundles in the High Voltage Speed DLC Pack (also available separately for £11.99 with two cars, two themed track parts and six decals), and a physical Limited Edition for the Nintendo Switch which includes both the DLC and a Hot Wheels GT-Scorcher die-cast vehicle, which is only available from selected retailers at £34.99.
You can find it for the PC via Steam, the PS5 via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, and the Switch via the eShop. And you can keep up with our latest coverage of the game, here.
