It’s more about adventure and survival than driving physics, but if you enjoyed relying on your trusty station wagon to make it through the Olympic Exclusion Zone, then you’ll be pleased to see the Pacific Drive: Whispers In The Woods DLC released.
The expansion adds an 8-12 hour story which is playable from a new or existing save, which will see you venture deep into a new and mysterious part of the zone’s forests, encountering a group of Anomaly-obsessed fanatics. It also introduces Artifacts which increase the challenges you’ll face, but are instrumental to surviving.

A new Version 1.11.0 update has also been released for the base game, which includes a number of performance improvements, changes to gameplay balancing for specific items and various bug fixes.
Pacific Drive has also been added to Xbox and PC Game Pass just in time for Halloween, which is a good opportunity to try it out if you’re a subscriber. While the driving experience isn’t on par with exploration games like SnowRunner or your favourite sim racing choice, it’s serviceable enough when you’re trying to get away from danger with some loot. And you certainly rely on your car as a refuge and constant companion, building a relationship with it that you don’t get in many games as you craft repairs and upgrades
Approach Pacific Drive in the right frame of mind and it definitely makes for a spooky and occasionally terrifying experience. And the Whipsers in the Woods DLC builds on that side of the game.
Pacific Drive is available for the PC and PlayStation 5 via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the PlayStation Store. Along with the Xbox Series X|S on the Microsoft Store, and both Xbox consoles and PC via a Game Pass subscription. And you can keep up with all the latest Pacific Drive news, updates and more, here.
