Taking place just a week after the real world BRSCC Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, the 2025 iRacing FF1600 Festival is this weekend.
Having been organised since 1972 inititally at Snetterton and then at Brands Hatch from 1976, it’s a celebration of the Formula Ford open wheel cars, with previous winners including Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Eddie Irvine, Johnny Herbert and more. And the car is also celebrated in iRacing with a Special Event taking place on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, and open to anyone with a Rookie 4.0 license and above.

I’m certainly hoping to make a couple of the different sessions across the weekend. Brands Hatch is one of my favourite circuits, having grown up nearby, and the Indy layout should make for some fun and frantic action in the little formula cars. Plus I much prefer the Ray FF1600 to the Formula Vee and Skip Barber on iRacing for some reason. It just seems a bit more accessible and easier to drive relatively quickly without trying to throw you into the barriers as often.
And even if I don’t make it into any of the Finals (and I’m pretty certain I won’t be close to winning any of them judging by my previous efforts in normal official FF1600 sessions), it’s fun to drive something different to my usual series.

2025 iRacing FF1600 Festival Session Details
Each session includes a 30 minute warmup, followed by an 8 minute/2 lap qualifying session. Two 10 lap heats will then run, with 28 drivers in each, and the top 13 advancing to the Final. They’ll then be joined from the top 4 finishers in the 30 driver Last Chance Qualifier.
Each Final will have 30 drivers competing over 20 laps.
It’s an Open Setup event, with dynamic weather and a 17 incident limit for a Stop and Go, followed by further punishment every 8 incidents after that.
The timeslots will run from October 31st until November 1st, 2025:
- Timeslot #1 – Friday 22:00 GMT
