The Early Access racing sim from small Argentine developers REG Simulations might attract a few more people as the free PISTA Motorsport update V0.8.0.1 adds karts alongside a new reworking of the force feedback system and a new mode putting you up against times set by real Turismo Pista racers.
First released back in August 2024, it’s a slightly niche title with the main attraction being the car and track list focused on Argentina. But the addition of the rental 390cc and more challenging 150cc 4T shifter karts, along with the Buenos Aires Kart Track, might broaden things out a bit.
Along with the reworked FFB and various AI and UI improvements, the other interesting feature is the new Turismo Pista mode. You’ll be able to compete in time-trials against the laps set by real drivers in the Argentine TC Pista stock car racing series. Running alongside the actual races, you’ll only have a day to set your best time, which will add a nice bit of pressure. Even if the TC Pista series isn’t particularly well-known or easy to follow outside of Argentina. it’s something that could work across the wider sim world.
Hopefully REG Simulations can continue to develop their racing sim throughout 2026. More choice is always good, especially when it offers something slightly different to existing titles on the market. Although I suspect many people outside of Argentina might feel the Brazil-based content from the more established Automobilista 2 would scratch any South American racing itch, it doesn’t mean PISTA Motorsport can’t find a good way to co-exist and grow.
