There’s lots of new content available now from developer 3DClouds as their retro arcade racer Formula Legends adds Late 2020s DLC and free 1950s cars, along with new championships, tracks, teams, drivers and more.
One example of the Late 20’s cars is available to everyone to use in Custom and Time Attack modes, along with all the 1950s content, while the full 2020’s pack costs around £4.99.

The free Formula Legends 1950s Content
The vintage 1950s era of formula racing is now available with the latest update, which adds a classic 1958 grand prix car, along with new drivers and teams appropriate to the time period.
And it looks suitable cool and cute, as you contend with the lack of any downforce. In addition to the car and a late 50s season to race in, there’s also a new Italian circuit to race on with the Vintage configuration of ‘The Temple of Speed’ track, featuring massive banked corners to navigate, and quite clearly inspired by Monza.

The paid Late 2020s Formula Legends DLC
The update does include one example of a Late 2020’s car available for everything to try out for free.
Alternatively you can pay around £4.99 depending on your platform to experience the technology and challenges of present-day formula racing. That includes low and high downforce modes, boost deployment, and the apparently all-important battery management (judging by the opening F1 Grand Prix in Australia).
You can switch downforce modes to open and close the aerodynamic wings, and between three battery modes to recharge (Eco), deploy (Performance) or maintain (Balance) your energy stores. And then deploy that power by using an overtake mode to give you a boost for a short period of time as long as you cross the line within one second of the car ahead.
If that all seems to much, you can also switch the systems to automatic, if you’re struggling to keep up with everything.
Along with the appropriate next-generation rules, the DLC also includes 8 new teams, 16 new drivers with unique helmets, 16 new liveries (2 per team), and a new Story Mode champion. It also adds the Azerbaijan circuit.

In addition to all the new content, Formula Legends has also had a reset to the online leaderboards so that everyone can compete from a fresh start on the latest version of the game.
Formula Legends is now available for the PC via Steam, Epic, GOG and Green Man Gaming, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft store and for the Nintendo Switch via the eShop. Keep up with the latest Formula Legends news and more, here.
