After mysteriously vanishing at the end of April, now the Project Motor Racing Japanese DLC returns with a new name. Now called the Japanese Prototypes Pack, was was formerly known as the Japanese GT500 Pack still contains the fictional Takimiya Circuit and nine Japanese racing cars, but one does get a minor change.
Rather than being listed as GT500 and JGTC classes, they are now know as Japanese Prototypes Class 1 for the 2021-2024 cars, and Japanese Protoypes Class 2 for the 2003 and 2004 models. Strangely, the Class 2 field has also changed the 2002 Toyota Supra for a 2003 Toyota Supra which may be an intentional alteration, or simply fixing a mistake in the original listing.

Given the name change, presumably one of the license rights holders challenged the original title of the DLC and car classes. And given that most developers are well aware of the process for licensing content, you’ll guess that it might be an existing licensee that people may have forgotten about, rather than the GT Association and Japan Automobile Federation, who respectively manage and sanction the championship.
There’s no official announcement from developers Straight4 Studios and agreements like this are often kept behind closed doors. But ultimately it’s just good news the cars and track are now available again, whether or not the classes are named accurately. Especially for those people who had already bought the DLC or Season Pass and just wanted to race them against more people.
