Almost two months after what was called the final update for Gran Turismo 5, and the closure of the online servers for the game on May 20th, 2014, Update Patch V2.17 has surprisingly just been released.
It’s required to ensure players can re-install any downloadable content they previously bought for Gran Turismo 5, as the previous final patch disabled the online services and features, and caused issues with DLC content which had already been bought.
If you’re looking to race online, you’ll either need a copy of Gran Turismo 6, or to wait until next year for the Playstation 4 release of Gran Turismo 7, which may well feature the Isle of Man TT circuit for the first time in an online racing game.
