There’s a new team at the top, as JMX Phantom take a GTWC Asia Endurance Esports series lead after claiming victory at the Bathurst 6 Hours.
One of the tri-continental GT World Challenge eSports series run by SRO Motorsports, the Assetto Corsa Competizione championship will finished with the Suzuka 10 hours on November 27th, 2021. But JMX Phantom will stay at the top of the table until then after a dramatic race at Mount Panorama.
The action began with a multi-car incident at turn 1, spakred by contact between Presley Martono for JMX Phantom and Philippa Boquida for Laundry House, with the latter spinning across the track in the #666 Mercedes-AMG. Despite incurring a ten-second time penalty for his involvement, Martono and team-mates Avilia Bahar and Fadhli Rachmat conitnued to battle and swap the lead with the Legion of Racers team until the final two hours.
Ultimately the JMX Phantom McLaren 720S GT3 of Rachmat, Bahar and Martono took victory by 35 seconds from the trio of Andika Rama Maulana, Dillian Tan and Moreno Pramata in the first to two Legion of Racers Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars. This place went to the sister car of Damon Woods, Luis Moreno and Thanathip Thanalapanan, who claimed the final step of the potium in the final 30 minutes of racing.
Previous championship leaders and Monza winners Full Pace Racing had to settle for fourth, but will head into the final round just 6 points behind JMX Phantom, and still with a good shot at taking the overall title in the three-round series.
