Often overlooked by sim racing fans, it’s a great time to see what you may have been missing, as you can race anything in RaceRoom for free until August 18th 2025.
Developed by KW Studios, the sim has been around since 2013, and has been the choice for various eSports competitions and series, with more than 250 cars and 60 tracks. Normally the free-to-play options are limited to a small selection of vehicles and venues, but now everything is fair game.
RaceRoom Racing Experience has always had the cars and venues you might expect for any racing sim, with a stong link to the World Touring Car and DTM series, along with the usual GT3 selection. And the likes of the Nordschleife, Spa, Daytona, Indianapolis and other famous tracks are all available.
But where it tends to shine is in the more unusual combinations. A lot of people paid attention to the recent release of the classic Super Touring cars, for example, and there’s plenty more that you might not find elsewhere, from a Volvo 240 Turbo to the ridiculously overpowered Group 5 Nissan Silvia Turbo or Zakspeed Capri, the Praga R1 or the Tatuus F4.
And many of the venues are similarly interesting and hard to find outside of user-created mods for other titles, with planty of circuits you might not have visited before, whether than’s the classic Avus, Brno (more commonly known for motorcycle racing), Falkenberg and Valerbanen, or the private venue of Bilster Berg. Along with the Macau street circuit.
It’s a great chance to discover some new cars and tracks for free, whether or not you’ve dabbled with RaceRoom in the past. And the free period is often followed by a sale, allowing you to keep racing your favourites beyond August 18th.
You can download Raceroom Racing Experience on the PC for free via Steam. Some additional content is available via Steam, but everything can be purchased via the official game store.
