If you play the Yakuza game series along with family-friendly kart racing titles, then you’ll be excited to see Ichiban Kasuga added to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in a free content drop.
You get Ichiban as a playable character, his Dragon Brave vehicle, and some special emotes and sounds. And it should automatically arrive whether you own the standard or digital deluxe versions of the game, as long as it’s been updated to the latest version.

Launched in September 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds features the largest roster of playable characters to appear in a Sonic game. Starting with 24 at launch, more than 50 should arrive by the end of 2026 including free and paid DLC, including the likes of Mega Man, Pac-Man, SpongeBob and Steve from Minecraft alongside those you might expect from the Sonic franchise.
CrossWorld has been developed by Sonic Team, with contributions from members of the Initial D arcade games as the sequel to Team Sonic Racing. It focuses on three lap races against up to 11 opponents, with your karts transforming into boats and planes as needed, with 24 different tracks, and the choice of Grand Prix, Time Trial, and Race Park modes. The last option requires you to complete specific challenges to unlock rewards.
There’s also local multiplayer, and cross-platform online racing for up to 12 players, along with themed ‘festival’ events offering special rewards for completing them.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available for the PC via Steam, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation store, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, the Nintendo Switch via the eShop and a Switch 2 version is also planned. Keep up with other Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds coverage, here.
