Fancy spending your time driving around South America and fixing up your truck as it takes damage from rought terrtain and obstacles? You’ll have the opportunity soon with the release of Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths set for a March 30, 2026 release on Steam for the PC.
It’s developed by Polish studio Atomic Jelly, who previously developed Rally Mechanic Simulator with Pay2Chill. This time, Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths is coming via publisher 101XP, and it promises to combine off-road driving with realistic maintenance. We covered a first Prologue version when it was released back in 2022.

You get to freely explore several large and open locations across diverse regions of South America, each with secrets, useful upgrades and customisation items. And along with the terrain, you’ll also feel the impact of dynamic day-night cycles and changing weather conditions, travelling through deserts, jungles, and vast plantations to earn money delivering cargo contracts.
There are four progression paths, which you can develop for specific benefits. Whether you choose Driver, Mechanic, Explorer and Trader, it will change your approach to driving, repairs and the in-game economy.
The way Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths aims to stand out from similar titles is that you’ll need to perform detailed and realistic repairs as you travel, using a variety of tools and parts to diagnose problems and then fix them. With more than 1000 parts and everything from wrenches and machetes to winches, you’ll need to be able to sort out any problem you encounter, along with making sure you refuel whenever you get the chance.
So if you’ve always wanted an alternative to the likes of SnowRunner and MudRunner that delves much deeper into mechanical work, this could be worth checking out.
A separate demo version, Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths – First Mile launched on Steam in early March if you want to try out the game. And so far it’s received positive reviews from Steam users. You can also wishlist Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths ahead of release on Steam now.
