Looking around the digital retailers, this is a good weekend for racing and car or bike-themed games. If you dream of making deliveries or repairing and restoring cars, well we’ve got something for that too!
Beginning with Steam, we’ve picked a trio from this week’s specials.
Two wheels come first with Ride selling for just £7.49 until Monday (€9.99 or $9.99, a 75 percent reduction). The start of a new series that has a sequel planned for release this Autumn, Milestone produced another divisive title in Ride.
Varied opinions and rightful criticisms aside, it’s a bike game! As such, we had to have it! By a long way, Ride’s no Tourist Trophy or TT Superbikes but it’s also not without its positives. Admittedly, we’re something of a captive audience though and in a phrase that rings out from all corners in the direction of Milestone year after year, we can only hope to see great improvements in Ride 2 a few months from now. All that said, Ride can still be entertaining in short bursts and it’s easier to accept the game’s limitations at today’s lower price.
If the default 100+ bike line-up isn’t enough, the four DLC packs are half price during this sale period. Usually £2.79 per three extra bikes, this weekend drops the Yamaha packs to £1.39 each.
Yamaha Historical Bikes (£1.39)
- Yamaha YZF R1 1998
- Yamaha YZF R7 1998
- Yamaha YZF R1 2002
Yamaha 2015 Bike Models (£1.39)
- Yamaha R1 2015
- Yamaha R1M 2015
- Yamaha R6 2015
For more variety as well as a greater number of bikes per bundle, the Top Bikes packs are also listed with a matching 50 percent price drop on their normal £4.79 price.
2015 Top Bikes Pack 1 (£2.39)
- BMW S1000 RR
- Ducati 1299 Panigale S

Euro Truck Simulator 2
Lowering the pace, one of the ever-unexpected chill-out faves in our Steam library is Euro Truck Simulator 2. SCS Software’s free-roaming, delivery and lightweight management game is a mere £5.99 this weekend — a 60 percent discount! ETS2’s European sales price is €7.99 and the tag is $9.19 for North America.
Changing course again, a different type of simulator might warrant your attention.
Mechanic Simulator 2014/2015
PlayWay/Red Dot Games’ Car Mechanic Simulator games will have a lighter impact on your wallet if you buy them by late Monday afternoon (July 24th).
Car Mechanic Simulator (2014) has a pocket money price tag of 99p for the next couple of days (€1.19 or $1.39). A mere fifth of its usual £4.99, CMS is a rather popular mix of management and puzzle game. You won’t be learning how to repair your own car but you just might learn where a few parts go and lose occasional hours to its charms!
Continuing the role play, Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 gets a spot in the weekend sale too. Available in standard form for £5.99 (€7.99 or $7.99), £7.59 will buy the Gold Edition that includes four of the seven DLC packs. Euro and Dollar prices for the Gold Edition are €9.99 or $9.99 respectively. Even with the current discounts, the Gold Edition represents a considerable saving on the sum of the individual content purchases.
The additional pieces of the Gold Edition are also available with discounts of between 40 and 60 percent:
PickUp & SUV £1.19, €1.79 or $1.79 (usually £1.99, 40 percent off)
Trader Pack £1.67, €2.39 or $2.39 (usually £2.79, 40 percent off)
Visual Tuning £0.95, €1.19 or $1.19 (usually £1.59, 40 percent off)
Youngtimer £7.59, €9.99 or $9.99 (usually £18.99, 60 percent off)
The remaining expansions are only sold separately, holding 20 to 25 percent reductions:

Performance DLC £2.99, €3.74 or $3.74 (usually £3.99, 25 percent off)

Redlynx’ infuriatingly magnetic obstacle course games are joined by June’s genre-blending Trials of the Blood Dragon. It’s a big departure from the established puzzle-solving of Trials that combines the ’80s flavour of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon with bikes, guns and on-foot platforming action.
Where Evolution and Fusion are A-to-B challenges, Trials of the Blood Dragon is a game to consider for its atmosphere and parody rather than the bikes!
Trials of the Blood Dragon £2.99 (usually £11.99, 75 percent off)
Trials Evolution Gold Edition £3.99 (usually £15.99, 75 percent off)
Trials Fusion £3.99 (usually £15.99, 75 percent off)
Trials Fusion Welcome to the Abyss DLC £0.99 (usually £3.99, 75 percent off)
Table Top Racing
Finally, we close our weekend bargains list with racing on a different scale. If you’re a Micro Machines fan of old, you might appreciate Playrise Digital’s take on small car, big environment play.
So endeth today’s sales.
