PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sim racers will have a new choice this Autmn as Rennsport will launch on consoles in September 2025.
As part of a publishing deal with Nacon, the date was announced during Bigben week, which also included news on more Revosim hardware and KT Racing title Endurance Motorsport Series, which is also due out in Autumn 2025.
Developed by Competition Company and Teyon, Rennsport has been available for the PC via Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store since 2024, with closed betas running before that throughout 2023. Console versions were announced in March 2025, including crossplay between the three platforms. This includes cross-platform progression via the Rennsport profile and app.

The exact day of release has yet to be announced, but it’s likely to coincide with the launch of the full V1.0 PC version.
It’ll be interesting to see how a confirmed console release date impacts the development of Rennsport, with the most recent updates arriving in March, and a relatively small list of included cars and tracks at the moment. It’s very focused on modern GT3, GT4, LMDh and Porsche Cup cars, which aren’t a particular underserved area of sim racing. Rennsport has so far been most prominent as the platform used for the ESL R1 pro sim racing championship, which began in 2023.
One current area of focus is an ongoing audio overhaul and sound redesign, with the Mercedes AMG 2020 GT3 shared as an example of the new approach and to set a benchmark for future improvements.
The traditional pre-Christmas launch window also puts it up against another confirmed console sim racing release with Project Motor Racing also arriving around the same time.
There’s also no confirmation yet whether Rennsport will remain free to play on consoles, which would certainly help it stand out. The PC version is free, and the game information states that players can enjoy ‘the core racing experience without any upfront costs’, which suggests it may become the first serious free sim racing title for consoles in the Autumn.
